Auburn is a delightful historic village situated approximately 110 km north of Adelaide and 25 km south of Clare. Auburn has a population of 334 people. The wine industry is Auburn's main source of employment whilst others commute to regional employment, are self employed in cottage industries, or are retired. There are post office and banking facilities in town. Doctor and chemist services are provided. There is a supermarket, hairdresser, video store and internet cafe. Auburn supports an art group, bowling, cricket, netball and football, pony club, racing pigeons as well as many service clubs. Auburn has a primary school with children progressing either to the High School at Riverton or Clare. There are also childcare facilities. There are a number of churches, including Anglican, Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Lutheran and Uniting.
