Gladstone

Gladstone is a small rural town with a population of 622. At one stage Gladstone became an important rail hub but now owes it future to servicing the farming sector and emerging tourism sector. Gladstone is home to the largest inland grain storage facility in the southern hemisphere and is also home to the last soft drink manufacturer in rural South Australia. A unique feature is the second largest tourist goal in Australia. Like many small towns there is wide range of sporting activities available. Shops cater for all basic needs. The town has both public and catholic primary schools and a public high school. For those who enjoy the quiet side of life Gladstone may be an ideal choice, also with the knowledge that it is only a 25 minute drive to Port Pirie.
