Edithburgh was once a port town that helped ship out thousands of tonnes of salt from the surrounding salt lakes. The town boasts fantastic swimming and fishing, including an all weather boat launching facility. A primary school operates within the township, with secondary education available through nearby Yorketown. Edithburgh’s population is just over 400 and supports a tourism and hospitality industry. A short drive from Edithburgh there is a wind farm operating and approximately 6km south east on the water is Troubridge Island and lighthouse. The main employment industries include retail, tourism hospitality, and farming. Land prices are under $100,000 with house prices varying upward to modern upmarket homes.
